About Us :

Eric Brook- who has a considerable ability in engine service and repair, woodwork and boat fitting, GRP repairs and boat painting in addition to being a qualified boat safety examiner (BSS) which qualification he has held since commencement of the boat safety scheme. He is also and sea check advisor for the RNLI

Frank Hutchinson- who is a time served experienced engineer, with a considerable engineering background which enables him to deal with most mechanical engine and gearbox problems on craft, all electrical work. In addition he is also a competent metal and woodworker

Graham Brimsom- who works with us at EMBS is a highly qualified electrical engineer and superlative joiner/cabinet maker, in addition Graham is fully qualified with a marine LPG endorsement to carry out gas installations on all types of craft.

 

History :


East Midland Boat Services was set up in 1972 as a mobile breakdown and fitting service for boats within the east midlands area.  At that time we became responsible for the callouts to the six hire fleets that were operating in the area.  Weekend servicing and instruction to hirers on boat handling on all of the east midlands waterways.

In 1975 we acquired the premises at Willow Mornings where our objective has always been to provide a pleasant rural mooring with the services and facilities - a service that was currently unavailable to the area.

At willow moorings over that last 32 years we have fitted out numerous craft both narrow boats and GRP cruisers to owners individual requirements and specifications, with our patent slip way we can now carry out work on craft up to 45ft in length (out of the water) some work areas being under cover with work carried out on larger craft afloat.
